In 2014, the Mongolian Parliament amended the Naadam law to rest for five days during this national holidays.
Horse Race: Since ancient times, animal husbandry has been the main branch of their labor, and the life of a herder in a vast steppe cannot be imagined without horses. Therefore, there is no doubt that horse racing has a very ancient origin for the nation. The horses race for two days in local Naadams and four days in Ulaanbaatar’s Naadam on July 10, 11 and 12. The race horse trainer’s Naadam is on 13 July at Khui Doloon Khudag, a horse racing field 28km west of Ulaanbaatar.
Wrestling: The main wrestling event is a knockout competition involving 512 or 1,024 participants. One of the unique features of Mongolian wrestling is its clothes. When he takes off his wrestling helmet and calls out his name and fame, he goes to the wrestling venue, depicting the movements of legendary birds such as eagles, hawks, and falcons. Unlike international wrestling events, there are no weight classes and the rules are also simpler. If a wrestler touches the ground with any part of their body apart from their feet and arms, they lose.
Archery: “The distance to the archery range is 45 arcs or about 75-80 meters. Appropriate procedures should be followed, either individually or in teams. The longest archer in the history of the Mongol army is the 330-yard range of Genghis Khan’s grandson Yesungen, which is about 520 meters.

Notes
please bring extra comfortable shoes, pants and socks, some places would be requiring light hiking. You may bring your snacks during the trip because it will take a long journey on the road. Please bring enough tugrik /mnt/ for local food/snacks (perhaps your alcoholic drinks), souvenirs or other purchases since there would be no money exchanges in local provinces and during the trips). It would be advisable /optional/ to bring with you some extra candies or sweets, perhaps if we visit some nomad family or gathered by children in a remote area and give them, would make them happy as well as add some charm to your trip ☺. (for Mongolians it is kind of an unwritten custom when traveling to the countryside or visiting nomads).Itinerary
