The Valley is named after by this bird, splendid gorge found in the Gobi Gurvan Saikhan National Park and it’s home for many wild animals such as the Siberian ibexes, Argali, snow Leopards, Lynxes, foxes, wolves and of course the Lammergeiers.
Khongor Sand dunes: Khongor sand is the longest sand dune in the country, extending more than 180 km from northwest to southeast, 3-5 km wide and in some places more than 20 km wide. Bayanzag, (means rich in saxaul) the flaming cliffs: Sedimentary sand cliffs, renown for it’s beautiful colour and palaeontological finds. Discovered and named by the paleontologist Roy Chapman Andrews as Flaming Cliff, which fires red, orange during sunset. In 1922, Andrews was the first to discover dinosaurs’ bones and eggs. His discoveries included the world’s first fossilized dinosaur eggs, petrified forests, and early mammals. Many of Andrew’s finds now not only adorn museums in Mongolia but worldwide. The best time to capture the cliffs at their most attractive is sunrise or sunset time.
Tsagaan Suvarga: (means white stupa) Rocky formations eroded by the wind look like a ruined city if you observe them from a certain distance. This place is worth visiting as it is visually wonderful as well as geographically interesting. It is a big limestone escarpment with a height of 200m and length of 400m. Climbing to the top would provide you with excellent views of the wonderful rock formations created by the wind.
Baga Gazriin Chuluu: (means low ground stone). It’s a granite rocky formation area. Pleasant place to walk and hike around among the colorful limestone formations. At a height of 1751 metres (1,09 mile), they form a granite canyon erected in the heart of the steppe. The erosion polished the rock faces of the cliffs. Some of the lateral entries of the canyon are not very accessible, but most of them permit you to enter and to make wonderful hikes in this rocky maze.

Notes
Please bring extra comfortable shoes, pants and socks, some places would be requiring light hiking. You may bring your snacks during the trip because it will take a long journey on the road. Please bring enough tugrik /mnt/ for local food/snacks (perhaps your alcoholic drinks), souvenirs or other purchases since there would be no money exchanges in local provinces and during the trips). It would be advisable /optional/ to bring with you some extra candies or sweets, perhaps if we visit some nomad family or gathered by children in a remote area and give them, would make them happy as well as add some charm to your trip ☺. (for Mongolians it is kind of an unwritten custom when traveling to the countryside or visiting nomads). This tour is not recommended for children below six years of age due to the long drive and involves some walking.Itinerary
